Economic Justice
Economic justice is central to achieving equitable development and sustainable natural resource management in Malawi. The Natural Resources Justice Network (NRJN) advocates for fair distribution of wealth, transparent resource management, and policies that empower communities to benefit from the country’s natural assets. By addressing inequalities and promoting accountability, we ensure that economic opportunities reach those who need them most.
Our Approach
Resource Revenue Monitoring
We track and analyze revenues from mining, forestry, and other natural resources to ensure transparency and accountability.
Community Benefits Advocacy
We work with local communities to secure fair compensation, benefits, and participation in decisions regarding resource exploitation.
Policy Engagement
We influence government policies to ensure equitable access to resources and economic opportunities.
Capacity Building
We equip citizens and community organizations with knowledge and tools to understand budgets, contracts, and economic policies affecting their livelihoods.
